Theory Test
The Theory Test is a computerised test, usually taken at the Larne or Belfast test centre. It consists of 2 parts.
The first part is 35 Multiple Choice Questions on:
- Road Procedures
- Traffic Signals and Signs
- General Road Safety
- Weather Conditions
The second part is a Hazard Perception Test which consists of a series of video clips of busy areas where there are potential and developing hazards. You will be moving through these areas in a car and you must click the mouse when you see a potential or developing hazard. The computer will then score you on how quickly you respond to the hazard.
Our instructors point out such hazards and teach you how to look for them during your driving lessons.
The Official Theory Test CD Rom covers every area of the theory test including hazard perception. The Official Theory Test Book covers all possible questions and answers.
We also recommend reading The Highway Code.
