The roads here are characterised by elevation changes, blind bends, and parked vehicles on narrow streets — all requiring excellent observation, smooth steering, and precise speed management. Hill starts become second nature when you practise on the gradients around Canford Cliffs Road and Haven Road. Clinton uses this area to develop your ability to read the road ahead, anticipate hazards around bends, and position your car correctly when space is limited.

Canford Cliffs Village provides a useful contrast — a small commercial area with on-street parking, pedestrians, and junctions that test your awareness in a more built-up setting. Moving between the village and the surrounding residential avenues during a single lesson gives you experience transitioning between different driving environments, which is exactly what the practical test demands.
